The ASHFALL Tour Shoots Pumpkins from a Trebuchet

I’m off to Ohio tomorrow. Part of this leg of the tour will include a stop at my brother’s farm near Yellow Springs, Ohio. Stop by and see the real farm that inspired Alex’s uncle’s place in ASHFALL. You can meet the real Max, Anna, Uncle Paul and Aunt Caroline, too. If you bring an old pumpkin or potato, we’ll turn it into a ballistic projectile with my brother’s trebuchet or Max’s potato cannon.

I’ll be doing my usual taekwondo demo at all my stops (breaking concrete blocks with my bare hands) in addition to the pumpkin-killing fun. Anyway, here’s the schedule:

  1. Well, you should come next year. I don’t think it would be very good for the child. The trebuchet hurls the pumpkins several hundred yards and smashes them violently. It works on a counterbalance of over 500 lbs. of steel and concrete weights. We did launch a (fake) cow this year, though….
