Breaking a block

11/10, Indiana, I’ll sign at the Indiana Library Federation’s annual conference from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Books will be available for sale or feel free to bring your own copies and/or library copies for me to sign.

11/12, Indiana, I’ll be part of a HUGE signing party organized by the Indiana Society of Children’s Book Authors and Illustrators at the Barnes and Noble at 8675 River Road Crossing Blvd in Indianapolis. Time to be announced.

11/17, Illinois, DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak Street, DeKalb, IL, I’ll be the keynote for the Fiction to Action seminar for educators and librarians from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Registration required.

2/24-2/27, California, I’ll be in the Los Angeles and Bakersfield area for a literary retreat and a school visit. I don’t have any public events scheduled right now, but I’d love to add more school, library, or bookstore events. To organize a new event, email me at

7/20 – 7/22, Indiana, I’ll be on the faculty at the Midwest Writers Workshop. I’ll lead an intensive session in writing young adult novels on Thursday and give several presentations Friday and Saturday. A limited number of people can also sign up to have me critique the first five pages of their novel for an extra fee. Registration is required. More info here.
