Here are some of the places I’m planning to travel to in 2014. I’d be thrilled to speak at more schools or libraries during any of these trips. The more I do in one trip, the cheaper it is for each school/library, because I split my travel expenses. If you know librarians, high school, or junior high teachers in these areas, please share this post with them. There’s lots of info about my author talks including costs, praise, and presentation descriptions here. I love speaking to readers–the more the better!
I’m visiting Ottowa Township High School in the Chicago area on Friday, March 21st. I could add additional visits in the area on the 20th or 22nd. Mileage would be split among all participating schools or libraries.
I’m visiting the fabulous public library in Burlington, Iowa on April 2nd. I’m available to do more stops in Iowa or Illinois on the 3rd and 4th. I’ll be driving for this trip, but most of my mileage is already covered.
St. Louis, Missouri
I’m speaking at Eureka High School on April 16th and Lafayette High School on April 17th. I could add the 15th or 18th to the trip. Mileage will be split among all participating schools or libraries.
I’ll be in the Fayetteville area for a school visit on April 21st. I’d love to add visits on the 22nd and 23rd. Each participating school would share travel expenses.
Bowling Green, Kentucky
I’ll be at the Southern Kentucky Book Festival on Saturday, April 26th and visiting a juvenile detention center on the 25th. I could do a school and/or library visit on April 24th. My publisher is picking up travel expenses for the festival, so there would be no mileage cost at all for this trip–only one night of hotel and my honorarium.
The Dalles, Oregon:
I’m signing at the 4th Annual YA Festival at Klindt’s Booksellers on May 31st. I’d love to add school or library visits on the 30th or 29th. My publisher is picking up all airfare for this trip!
Eau Claire, Wisconsin:
I’m doing an event in Eau Claire on 10/17. I’d love to add stops on 10/16 or 10/15 in that area or on the way between Indianapolis and Eau Claire.
I’m speaking at the Oklahoma Library Association Festival of Books on October 30th. My airfare is paid, so I could do additional visits on October 29th or 31st for one night of hotel plus honorarium. I’ll be in Oklahoma City during this trip, too. Contact me for details.
If you’re interested in booking an event, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’d like to discuss a presentation on the phone, email me your telephone number and I’ll call you. I’m looking forward to a GREAT year of school and library talks in 2014!
